I am grateful for the ways I've grown & show up for myself
Gratitude is like a mood-boosting gummy vitamin. For days now, I've been thinking about all the people and things I'm grateful for, and feeling good because of it. I'm sure you've been doing the same.
There are big things -- health, family, ride-or-die friendships, having a support system, housing and food security, etc.
And smaller things, that can vary day to day -- my morning coffee, catching a green light, the way shadows dance on the ground, the laughing toddlers from the nearby daycare that parade past my house every morning.
In the midst of all of this, I was suddenly struck by this thought.
I celebrate what's around me -- what about what's within me?
I'm great at acknowledging and celebrating others' wins. But like many women and moms, I often forget to celebrate my own.
Similarly, I think we often focus our gratitude on things that are external to us, without pausing to be grateful for our own efforts.
Today, I encourage you to reflect on your own strengths, actions, healing, progress, growth. How you learned from mistakes. How you leaned out of your comfort zone. How you let yourself rest when you needed it. How you set boundaries. How far you've come.
You are worthy of your own gratitude.
