Embracing Sisterhood and Passion: An Inspiring Conversation with Amy and Nancy

Meeting Amy and Nancy: A Sisterly Bond

Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with Amy and Nancy, two remarkable women who have transformed their sisterly bond into a movement that empowers women everywhere. We discussed their journey, the legacy of their incredible mother, and their amazing community of women, the Passionistas Project.

Amy and Nancy are sisters by birth and best friends by choice.  Growing up in a creative household with supportive parents, they developed a bond that became the foundation of the Passionistas Project, a growing community they built to offer other women the same support and empowerment they've always had with each other.

All of this started with the home they grew up in, and the lessons they learned from their mom.

The Legacy of Betty Sacco Harrington

One of the most touching parts of our conversation was hearing about their mom, Betty. Betty's most important lesson to her children was that their siblings were their best friends. How cool is that?  I’ve recently started to mention this to my girls, to instill in them this expectation that this person in your life isn’t just a sibling, this is also a friend…so treat them accordingly.

Amy and Nancy’’s mom also modeled unwavering support and love, which profoundly shaped their approach to life and their relationships.  Their mother’s even-keeled nature and ability to make them feel safe and loved gave them the foundation to build themselves authentically.  It also made them into people who felt like they were enough, so they could choose paths and people in life that were a good fit for them; they weren’t hungrily seeking out love or validation because they already received this at home.

Navigating Conflict and Strengthening Bonds

I asked Amy and Nancy about their mother's message of sibling friendship and how it held up during conflicts. As it turns out, Amy and Nancy didn’t argue much growing up. Their mother had a unique way of redirecting their energy, whether it was through baking cookies or finding activities that brought them back together. Her calm and trusting demeanor helped them resolve conflicts and reinforced their bond.

I made a mental note of this – it’s helpful to redirect, show up calmly, and trust them to work it out between themselves.

From Hollywood to Passionistas: A Journey of Impact & Sisterhood

Both Amy and Nancy had successful careers in Hollywood but felt a pull towards something more meaningful. They started the Passionistas Project as a podcast to lift women up and share their journeys. This side project quickly grew into a larger movement, including a subscription box of women-owned products and an annual Women's Equality Summit.

One of the strengths of the Passionistas Project is its vast network of women from diverse backgrounds and professions. When someone joins the sisterhood, they are immediately welcomed and connected with others who can help them on their journey. Members uplift each other, share their stories, and celebrate their wins, big and small. Whether it's through the free membership or the premium one, there's a wealth of content and interaction available, plus their scholarship program ensures that financial constraints don't prevent anyone from joining.

Conclusion

Amy and Nancy's vision has always been on building a supportive space where women can thrive, and to offer the same unwavering loyalty and support they share with each other to all women in the community.

They shared this quote: "When one of us wins, we all win." This simple yet powerful message encapsulates the spirit of what they’ve created.

If you're looking for a supportive network of women who will cheer you on and catch you when you fall, check out the Passionistas Project!
